I make abstract photographic images using ordinary, seemingly mundane objects as a source of inspiration. When I notice a particular color, line, or texture that intrigues me, I begin to think about ways in which I can transform the object into a new creation. Rather than move anything into or out of the frame, I walk around until I find the perspective that will enable me to create a composition that bears little, or no, resemblance to the thing photographed. I focus on a tiny portion of the object. Two dimensional objects often appear one dimensional and frequently fill the frame. In keeping with this minimalist approach to capturing an image, I do very little post- production work, limiting myself primarily to minor color adjustments and cropping.
